Raise your voice - come to a rally!
|
We are joining with all other groups who will be effected by these cuts for a rally on Tuesday March 10 at NOON at Province House (1726 Hollis St, Halifax). Check back soon for more rallies near you!
The NS Arts Coalition stands with communities directly targeted by the government’s proposed cuts to arts, culture, heritage, education, and social services. Major reductions are tabled to L’nu programs, African Nova Scotian programs, and supports for workers, youth, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, disabled people, and people living in poverty—amid ongoing housing, healthcare, food, and environmental crises. These cuts are not abstract austerity measures; they are targeted decisions that deepen existing inequities and disproportionately cause harm.
Attacks on cultural, communal, and educational funding are part of a larger pattern: an effort to devalue the lives, languages, histories, and futures. Our work is to stand together and be clear about the impacts of these budget decisions. Members of the NS Arts Coalition will be present at the Shoulder to Shoulder Rally at 12 PM on Tuesday, March 3, and at the Rally for the Arts at 12 PM on Wednesday, March 4, both at Province House. Culture is Critical. |
